I have built it, lost it, and built it again
My life and business have been an adventure I would gladly embark on again!
I have been fortunate to have a broad background of business and life experience that has made me the entrepreneur and mentor I am today. Truly living, for me, is about finding balance and wealth in all aspects of your life: Money, Home, Health, Business, Lifestyle and Legacy.
As I have wandered my life's path, I have been blessed to learn many lessons from many wise people. It is now my time to share my teachings and become the mentor I have always known I would become.
Roots
A family legacy, and a gift for teaching
I was raised in a family with long, deep farming roots in Virginia. The farm my mother still lives on has been in the family over 200 years. Just as it has seen change, so have I, and in many fewer years. That kind of upbringing teaches you what patience looks like, what stewardship costs, and what it means to leave something behind that outlasts you.
I have been in business for myself since high school. It started with babysitting for a family in my neighborhood, where I found I could not only keep the children safe but help them with homework in subjects they had given up on entirely. That was when I found my real gift: taking complicated ideas apart and handing them back in language a person can actually use. Nothing is over your head in a room with me. That is deliberate.
I sharpened that skill through a BS in Business Management and an MBA in Marketing and Entrepreneurship, both from Virginia Tech, and then through decades of work with private businesses, government agencies and nonprofits, in technology, training, budgeting, risk management, logistics, process optimization and executive management.
The constant
Technology has always been the foundation
I set up my first computer network at thirteen and went on to study engineering and programming in college. In the mid 1990s, straight out of grad school, I started a technology consulting business on an idea that was unfashionable at the time: small businesses needed to be on the internet. I spent that decade putting them there.
At Hibernia National Bank I was Online Banking Technology and Affiliates Manager, then ATM Product and Marketing Manager. I led the review of an enterprise-level portal and security vendor there, from the business requirements through vendor selection to the final contract terms.
I have been the lead developer behind every business I have owned for 30 years. I have run Zoho One since 2018 and GoHighLevel since 2024.
Technology has always been the foundation of building my businesses. And helping others build theirs. My superpower is taking the business requirements and marrying them with the right technology solution.
Three fresh starts
Then came the losses
I have built a successful life and had to start over from nothing three separate times.
The first came with an early and unexpected death. The second came with a short marriage that ended when we both recognized we were walking different paths. The third came with a hurricane.
I had moved to New Orleans and spent nearly five years running a deep sea fishing charter business. Hurricane Katrina took the house, the vehicle, the boats and the business, and the relationship I was in ended with it.
I did not walk away from the Gulf Coast. I spent the next two years as an Impact Area Coordinator for disaster recovery with the American Red Cross, working from Texas to Alabama and helping communities put themselves back together. I met my life and business partner, Dewy Vadnais, during that season.
What I found underneath all of it was an inner strength that kept me focused on what I could control, and one stubborn idea: my future was not my present. Rebuilding a life after devastation is not easy, and I will never tell you it is. I will tell you it is possible, and I will show you the steps.
Today
Why I built Complete Wealth Solutions
I built Complete Wealth Solutions because I lived the imbalance myself. I know exactly what it feels like to be accomplished in one area of life and completely bankrupt in another.
I see the same pattern in the entrepreneurs and business owners who come to me: highly motivated, genuinely capable, often successful on paper, and privately overwhelmed, frustrated and out of control. Every time they get ahead in business, something else falls apart.
Most coaches pick a lane. I refuse to. My depth of expertise in business, real estate, construction and financial strategies has shown me the opportunity everyone has to create a family legacy that gives you the lifestyle you desire. The Balance of Wealth Blueprint works all six pillars at once: Money, Home, Health, Business, Lifestyle and Legacy. And while we are working on the core six pillars, you will see the spillover into your own Relationships and Spirituality.
I am a complex problem solver who helps you envision your dream lifestyle, and then create the business opportunity, investments and systems to bring that dream to life.
Health and healing through nature
Close to my farm roots
To stay close to my nature-loving farm roots, I grow my own garden and love sharing that passion with others through my nonprofit, Healing Gardens Foundation, where I am founder and executive director.
Healing Gardens Foundation was founded because I see the problems in how we are living, or not living, in harmony with nature. I share my vision of Health and Healing Through Nature, and the options I have found and use for removing the chemicals in both my food and my environment.
I have been fortunate to build businesses with my wonderful life partner of over 20 years, Dewy Vadnais. Together, we share a vision of a Healthier and Wealthier life for us all!
